Notre Dame, Florida State and Penn State spent decades outside a conference, with no conference title to win. Their rows add one estimated conference title (+4) for each independent season that ended in the AP top 5 (or unbeaten, before the AP poll began in 1936): Notre Dame +29 (1913–2012), Penn State +17 (1909–1991), Florida State +6 (1980, 1987–91). They sit where the projected score lands but don't take a numbered spot, so the real 1–10 stays intact. Notre Dame ties Texas at 225 and sits ahead on all-time wins (972 to 971).

*Starred scores are estimates, not real titles, and are not counted in the 1–10. Field = current Power 4 programs plus Notre Dame; across all of FBS, Tulsa (163, mostly Missouri Valley titles) would rank 10th. USC's 39 conference titles include the vacated 2004–05 Pac-10 titles (260 without them). CFP counts start in 2014. Bowl totals = games played, incl. CFP games at bowl sites. All-time wins break ties.

Voting schedule (CT)

Round 1 polls run Sat 10/10 to Sat 10/17 (about 5:20 PM CT; R1-A 5:51 PM). Quarterfinals, semifinals and the final open at 7 PM CT and close at 1 PM CT (the final closes 3 PM CT 12/6, after the CFP selection show). Site voting stops at the exact close time. See the launch post. Results are posted on X and here a few hours after each round closes, and the next round opens that evening.

Methodology

Seeding. Seeds come from the B1G+A all-time program rankings, which scores each program's full history (national titles, playoff and bowl results, Heisman winners and sustained winning). Seeds 1-10 are the all-time top 10. Seeds 11-12 are at-large picks with estimated scores (*).

Format. 12-team bracket. Seeds 1-4 get Round 1 byes, and Round 1 games are hosted by the higher seed. Quarterfinals, semifinals and the final are played at neutral NFL/bowl-style stadiums, just for fun.

Voting. Every game is a native X poll on @B1GAnalytics. The model seeds the field, but the fans pick every winner. Upsets are welcome.
